Born in 1968, Charlie spent his early life in Leeds, Yorkshire. It was during these formative years, that a love of painting and drawing was first instilled. To a large extent Charlie is self-taught, and has painted and drawn seriously since the early 1990's. There have been a number of artists who have been a particular influence and inspiration. These include international artists such as Jim Warren, Harley Brown but also local artists such as Said Ahmed.
Materials of particularly interest include oils, acrylics, ink, pencil, pastel and sometimes watercolour. Subjects include local landscapes, seascapes and buildings of architectural interest. These are sold as either prints or originals. Charlie particularly enjoys working on individual commissions, where the challenge is always one of capturing the essence or character of the subject.
As well as various exhibitions exhibited in Leeds, Durham, Newcastle, London and many of his works are held within in private collections in the United States, Australia and parts of Europe.
